"Astrology has no thirteenth house back home in England, Mother Pharika. It stops at twelve. So I turned to the tarot, and the thirteenth card of the tarot is Death."
Dr. Kylie Moriarty intercedes when her clone of Avacyn is attacked by a vengeful Vraska. Vraska kidnaps Kylie and brings her to Theros, planning to destroy her in her clone of Avacyn's stead. But Kylie reveals to her her discoveries about the ecological damage the planeswalkers are doing, and both ladies decide they agree that planeswalkers are too dangerous to be free.
Now that they're on the same page, Kylie and Vraska begin building up a coalition creatures with constant +1/+1 creatures and are soon discovered by Pharika, God of Affliction.
Kylie's medical knowledge outstrips even Pharika's, and so she invites the Brit to teach her all her surgical secrets, in return for being granted all of Pharika's knowledge of Theros medicine. The exchange of knowledge goes quite well, to the point where Pharika becomes the only deity Kylie considers to be real and worthy of worship.
Each of the three brings with her knowledge of a way to defeat their enemies and protect both England and Theros. Pharika brings them the secrets of Epic Struggle and Mortal Combat, to which Jade Mage, Slimefoot, the Stowaway, and Necrogenesis are added to ensure a twenty-one creature army, while the living beings can be easily sacrificed into the graveyard through a clone of Bontu the Glorified to fulfill Mortal Combat.
Vraska brings the Revel in Riches, the Prying Blade, and the Pitiless Plunderer, and she brings with her Liliana's contract as well. To this, Erebos allies Kylie to make clones of his Sower of Discord, Harvester of Souls, and Overseer of the Damned. But as this doesn't quite create enough demons to fulfill the contract, Kylie adds the Skeletal Changeling, Moonglove Changeling, Ghostly Changeling, and Cairn Wanderer to serve as sneaky substitutes.
And then Kylie adds the Darksteel Reactor and the Contagion Clasp. She also adds the true intention the three wish to win with - Helix Pinnacle. Then Kylie creates an Awakening charm, a Cryptolith Rite, Karametra's Acolyte, Harvester Druid, Golden Hind, Llanowar Elves, Quirion Elves, Naga Vitalist, and Vesper Ghoul.
Pharika then brings in a replica of Sakiko, Mother of Summer.
At all this, Erebos, God of the Dead, and Nylea, God of the Hunt, are attracted by the power these three are using and come to see what's going on, only to find they willingly allow Kylie to clone them and send their clones in to help.
Vraska then kidnaps Rhonas and convinces him to join in, while Pharika weaves a Dark Prophecy. To ensure they aren't stopped, Kylie crafts both Deathgrip and Lifeforce charms.
Let the 13th House rise.
