Zur the Enchanter Crab Tribal (EDH / Commander)

Get Zur out early, tutor up Scuttletide, and use it alongside anthems and lots of card draw to swarm the board with crab tokens and hit face!

Scuttletide is the secret commander of the deck and thus needs additional protection and cards that can pull it out of the graveyard if it gets removed. Curator's Ward is probably the best countermeasure to the tide being removed. Counterspells are handy for dealing with direct removal spells and exile effects. If all else fails, our suite of permenant recursion will help. Hanna, Sun Titan, and Sevine's Reclaimation can recur multiple times if necessary and Auramancer is a little inefficient but does its job. Game Plan and Commit // Memory are also double-faceted cards that can refill our hands in a pinch and also shuffle the tide back into our deck for Zur to fetch up. Obviously all of this is also nice for recurring our engine pieces like High Alert, Necropotence, and the like.

Some good Tutor options for Zur are below:
Anthems

• High Alert, incredibly good anthem for the deck and acts as a primary wincon when combined with Defensive Maneuvers. Also makes Zur basically a 4/4, which is funny.
• Etchings of the Chosen, can protect Zur while pumping your crabs
• Crown of Ascension, it's funny instant-speed evasion that you can grant to your crabs when Zur swings. Good for surprise kills if your opponents have blockers on the ground.
• Intangible Virtue/Radiant Destiny are good for the vigilance and aid against bad crackback

Card-draw enchantments

• Rhystic Study/Remora, obviously are great in commander and this is no exception
• Necropotence, is a Zur classic. However, the discard nonbo can be an issue since this list runs more recursion than usual. In tandem with Bag of Holding you can partially bypass this issue.
• Tocasia's Welcome, great new card for this deck. Allows us to activate Scuttletide once per turn and go card-neutral while doing so. Also goes positive with Welcoming Vampire or Kindred Discovery

Interaction

• Imprisoned in the Moon/Darksteel Mutation fulfill similar purposes and are good for neutralizing creature threats, especially against colors that can't remove enchantments well.
• Grasp of Fate, just a rock of a card. Perfect fit for evening the playing field and removing all the big stuff to buy your crabs time.

Fun note: Ashnod's Altar + Kindred Discover or Species Specialist or Marneus Calgar allows you to draw your library and with an Annointed Procession in play you can make an incredible amount of crabs! But besides the procession, the deck can't really utilize that loop effectively. It's neat to pull off nonetheless.
